Counter Space is a project that aims to challenge the perception of space as a backdrop to our daily activities and as a neutral container. The project is building on the theories of Gramsci, Lefebvre, Mouffe, and others and using this theoretical base to contextualize the space as a tool to maintain the status quo in power relationships, while using artistic practices to discover ways of challenging hegemony in spatial context.

In the framework of the Incubator program, the goal is to develop ways to teach Counter Spatial Practices, design workshops, and interventions that allow peoples, who are not part of the official narrative, to contextualize and utilize the public space as a tool for caring, reshaping and sharing.
